I can't believe our baby boy is two! He has blessed our family so much. This year I made him a tiger cake and tiger paw cupcakes. (He sleeps with a little stuffed tiger every night. It is his current "lovey.") We were disappointed when he woke up sick on his birthday and ended up having a double ear infection, so we had to scale back his party a lot. We told most of our family not to worry about coming, so we just had Grandma and Grandpa R., and Uncles Jakob and Christian join us for a short while.
He did perk up a bit when he got a helium balloon and once we started opening a few gifts. Rachel was so excited for his party and had been counting down the days for weeks. She sure loves her little brother and has been a great big sis!
James is such a fun little boy. He is growing up, starting to chatter in short sentences and repeating everything he hears. He has learned his basic colors and can sing chunks and selections of some of his favorite songs. He still sleeps 12+ hours a night but has been a stubborn napper lately. He loves nursery. He loves playing with his big sister and often grabs her hand and leads her to a room in the house to play with him. He now sits and watches cartoons (so at least I get a little break even when he doesn't nap.) He loves trucks and cars and carries them all over the house. He has turned into a big tease and he is a bit of a mama's boy, especially when he's sad or sick. He is a rough-tumbling boy usually on the run. He has dropped to the 85th percentile both in weight and height. (Picky eater all of a sudden.) He flirts with ladies in the grocery store and his smile can charm anyone. He has filled our hearts with so much joy. We love you, Jamesy-guy!
